Job Description

 

Title:   Camp Director for Camp Wildlife (A Shooting Sports and Wildlife Ecology Camp)

 

Work Dates:  May 26, 2007 – August 11, 2007

 

Description:  The camp is located on one of  South Carolina’s premiere sporting clays and hunting plantations.  A majority of the camp week will focus on hunting techniques, wildlife ecology, ATV riding, outdoor survival skills, shotgun training, rifle training, and archery training.  Instructors will be trained and certified in these areas.  In addition to these activities we will also utilize other components such as a swimming, teams courses, night hikes, paintball, star labs, and sporting clays.  We have partnered with a variety of wildlife organizations including: South Carolina Ducks Unlimited, Remington, and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.  For more information you can check out our website at www.ylicamps.com  and click on Camp Wildlife.

 

·      Supervise staff and oversee program.

·      Assist in teaching all components of the Wildlife/Shooting Sports Curriculum (training provided).

·      Lead students in daily program classes and activities (wake-up, flagpole, meals, canteen, campfire, and rap-up).

·      Be actively involved in all program activities, leading and participating in evening recreational and instructional times as scheduled.

·      Set-up and maintenance of site and program areas.

·      Perform direct supervision of children while involved in classes and activities (on- and off-site).

 

Qualifications:

·      BA or BS in Parks & Recreation, Biology, Wildlife and Fisheries, Natural Resources, or related field is preferred but not necessary to apply.

·       At least 2 years of residential camp experience necessary.

·      Must have management experience.

·      Must have the patience, understanding, flexibility, and energy to work and live with campers and staff.

·      Must be willing to sacrifice, adapt, and work hard as part of a team pursuing one common goal and objective.

 

Pay Scale:

Bi-weekly pay of $600-$700 plus room, board and a accidental/sickness insurance plan.  EOE.
