Pecos
River about 7 km NE of Roswell, Chaves Co., New Mexico (Gilbert and Chernoff
in: Chernoff et al. 1982).

of this species, including impacts of nonidigenous organisms, hybridization,
competition, and/or predation; and a narrowly restricted range (Jelks et al.
2008). Page and Burr (1991) noted N. simus pecosensis recognized as a
threatened subspecies.
