Must be splash-proof safety goggles, not spectacles or glasses. The TEKS require the use of goggles when handling hazardous liquids.

Vent openings must be indirect by being covered &/or with baffles to prevent straight-line passage of liquids into the goggle.

Must provide a complete, snug seal around the eyes

The American Opthalmic Association OKs use of contact lens under spalsh-proof safety goggles.

Face shields should be worn w/ goggles also.

ANSI (American National Standards Institute) is a non-profit association which publishes standards covering a broad range of equipment & industries. ANSI Z87.1 standard relates to an impact, not a splash-proof standard.

NOTE: This list is not complete & is intented to provide information for consideration before purchasing eye protection devices.
