Anaphase

During anaphase, the chromatids of each chromosome separate at the centromere, and the daughter chromosomes move away from one another toward opposite ends of the cell. The centromere of each chromosome moves first, appearing to pull the arms of the chromosome behind it. The end of anaphase is reached when the two sets of daughter chromosomes reach the opposite poles of the cell.
