Travel:
South Padre Island is served by two international airports: Brownsville/South Padre Island International Airport, serviced by Continental Airline, is located just 26 miles from the island and Valley International Airport, serviced by Southwest and Continental Airlines, is located in Harlingen, approximately 40 miles from the island. Ground shuttles are available for from both airports and discounted rates will most likely be available. Check back later for negotiated rates for airport shuttle to/from hotel.
Accommodations:
All 100 blocked rooms at the La Quinta Inn and Suites have been booked and therefore rooms are no longer available at the La Quinta Inn and Suites but the local committee has signed a contract with Holiday Inn Express, Hotel and Suites to offer meeting participants a rate of $84/night (+ tax) per standard double queen room. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance (<0.25 mile) of La Quinta Inn and Suites and the South Padre Island Convention Center. For reservation information, please see below.
Reservation Procedures: When making reservations please call our Reservations Department at (956)761-8844 or (888) 772-3222 and refer to the group code assigned to you for this stay. YOUR GROUP CODE IS (WSG) The room block will be held until October 31, 2008, after this cutoff date, unless contingency arrangements have been made, uncommitted rooms in the block will be released. Additional reservation requests will be honored with the same rate in a space available basis, as would be the case of early arrivals and late departures.
