Writing the Abstract

All abstracts must be less than 300 words, including title, authors names (place * following name to be considered for student presentation award), and addresses. Your abstract will be printed without editing, and those exceeding the word limit will be truncated at 300 words. Please follow the format below - Title (in capital letters), then authors, with affiliation and email address following each author's name. If author does not have an email address, use snail mail address. If two authors are from the same institution, give affiliation only once (below). Abstracts should be informative, rather than suggestive. For example, try to use statements like "We conclude that nest boxes are not a viable conservation alternative for this species..." instead of "The conservation implications of this study will be discussed" and "We recommend that future studies focus on reproductive energetics" rather than "More work needs to be done...".

Special Abstract Instructions for Students

The WS gives presentation awards in three categories: best student paper, best student poster and (where applicable) best undergraduate presentation. If you wish to be considered for a student paper or poster presentation award, please check the appropriate box on the abstract submission form. To be eligible for these awards, the presenter must be a student (currently enrolled or within 6 months of finishing an undergraduate or graduate degree) but may have non-student co-authors. For those presenting posters, the primary author and presenter must be a student (as with paper presentations, non-student co-authors are allowed).

It is preferred that all abstracts be submitted online. Follow the link below to the online Registration Desk. Once you have registered for the conference you will be able to submit an abstract online.
