Plant Biology

Plant Biology at Texas State

Plant Biology at Texas State covers the major specialized disciplines dealing with plants, including plant taxonomy and systematics, plant ecology, plant ecophysiology, plant cellular and developmental biology, plant conservation and genetics, and paleobotany. Our faculty work at scales ranging from cells to the entire planet, and in both aquatic and terrestrial systems, as well as wetlands. We use tools ranging from meter sticks to infrared gas analyzers to electrophoretic gels to mass spectrometers. We study plants growing in growth chambers, greenhouses, and in ecosystems throughout Texas and the world.
