Undergraduate Research, Dr. David Parichy’s Lab. University of Texas - Austin, Fall 2003-Fall 2004

     • Conducted binary tests examining mate preference, mate choice, shoaling preferences, and the visual stimuli underlying these preferences on Zebrafish (Danio rerio).

     • Performed artificial breeding and egg sorting.

     • Videotaped behaviors and scored tapes.

     • Took pictures of fish in order to construct a postembryonic developmental staging series by using vital dyes to study the bone structure and neurological system development.

Field Research, ARCHELON: The Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece. Kyparissia, Summer 2003

     • Monitored Caretta caretta’s nests.

     • Measured and logged adult turtles found on the beach during night shifts.

     • Relocated nests; built protection around nests; recorded attempted landings and nest construction.
