Nice Lab

Graduate Student Openings

There are currently openings in my lab for graduate students who are interested in pursuing research in population genetics, population biology and evolution in butterflies and other organisms. Although my work is primarily concerned with butterfly evolution, prospective students should not feel constrained to limit their interests to butterflies only. I am particulary interested in students who will integrate field studies with molecular approaches for testing hypotheses in ecology and evolution generally.

Our lab facilities are equipped to handle a wide array of molecular techniques, including PCR, automated sequencing and the development of new marker systems. My field sites are located primarily in the Texas Hill Country and surrounding areas (including Texas State's Freeman Ranch) and in the Sierra Nevada of California.

The Department of Biology offers a Masters of Science (M.S.) program in several fields as well as a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Aquatic Resources. The Department of Biology offers a new M.S. program in Population and Conservation Biology. For more information about these degree programs, please visit the Biology Department home page.

If you are interested in joining the lab, please email me at the address below. Please provide a brief description of your interests.
